A Partnership Program between PLEDJ & McGill University's School of Social Work

The PLEDJ International Fellowship | Social Work for Social Justice is a transformative, two-year academic and field-based program in partnership with the McGill University School of Social Work. The program brings together a cohort of 12 emerging leaders from marginalized communities in conflict-affected regions to engage in rigorous academic training, experiential learning, and applied fieldwork in social work, justice, and peacebuilding.
Year One: Canada-Based Learning
In Montreal, Canada, fellows:

Pursue a Master of Social Work at McGill University, focused on community organizing, international social work and human rights.

Engage in a holistic program hosted by PLEDJ focused on community building, grassroots leadership, solidarity dialogues, field experiences, the Holistic Liberating Model to community development and policy change, as well as additional components of empowerment, resilience training and social support.
Year Two: Community-Based Action
In their home countries, fellows:

Develop and lead local initiatives rooted in the principles of justice, peace, and collective healing

Conduct action research and contribute to knowledge exchange

Host community knowledge-sharing sessions and local dialogues
