Solidarity Dialogues : Practical guide
This first edition of the PLEDJ | Solidarity Dialogues Practical Guide is designed for community leaders, educators, conflict resolution practitioners, and civil society professionals who are navigating polarization and deep-rooted conflict within their communities. As polarization threatens civil discourse, there is a pressing need for leaders at all levels and of all kinds to strengthen, within their respective circles of care and influence, the spaces where diverse voices can be heard, and diverse members of communities can engage in productive dialogue. By fostering empathy and mutual understanding, such dialogue can fortify people’s resilience to conflict and ability to navigate polarization.
This practical guide complements the Solidarity Dialogues facilitator training, providing
leaders with essential tools to facilitate effective dialogue. By offering a replicable, community-led model, this Solidarity Dialogues project helps address polarization while adapting to the unique dynamics of Canada’s diverse cities during times of conflict.
"By centering marginalized voices and embracing discomfort as a catalyst for growth, structured dialogue becomes a path to shared liberation for both the oppressed and the oppressor, while repairing relationships, dismantling division, and co-creating lasting systemic change."
