Hanya Omar

Director of Operations
 

Hanya Omar manages and handles the daily business operations of PLEDJ. She works closely with the Executive Director to create our programs. She oversees PLEDJ’s finances, administration, governance, and program implementation, and supports the day to day activity of employees. Hanya has seven years of experience in nonprofit management, project development, and strategic planning both with local community groups and internationally. She is especially experienced in the fields of international community development, conflict resolution, and the vernacularization of global human rights discourses. 

 

Hanya has a BA in Political Science and Psychology from McGill University, and an MA in International Relations and International Law from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). 

 

Before managing the establishment of PLEDJ in 2020, she was the Fellowship Coordinator, Accounts and Program Administrator at ICAN-McGill.
